- TransCor has operated a local transportation
detail in West Palm Beach continuously since 1996.
- In 2003 alone, we transported more than
9,700 prisoners in cooperation with the Sheriff’s Office.
- The detail operates 7 days a week, covering
two districts of the County. Palm Beach County is 2,578 square
miles – covering 47 miles north to south and 53 miles east
to west.
- TransCor maintains a local office in
the county and has eight full-time employees. Three vans are dedicated
to this program.
- An agent patrols each district, responding
to requests for pick-ups from the dispatch office, to the arrest
scene, local booking, etc.
- The agent waits to take custody of multiple
arrestees – between 3 and 5 – before transporting
them to central booking, creating a more efficient operation during
busier times.
- The agent works in cooperation with local
law enforcement to participate in sting operations, putting our
agent in place to immediately accept custody of all arrestees

TransCor performed more than 9,788 transports in 2003
At an average of two hours per transport,
West Palm Beach saw a savings of 19,576 work hours
Adding the equivalent (FTEs) of 10 officers
