1. HOW DO I GET STARTED?
It’s simple. To get registered, just call and speak to one of TransCor’s customer service representatives at 1-800-737-9190. To learn more about those states and our services, please feel free to contact a member of the Government Relations Department.

2. WHAT EXACTLY IS PECS?
TransCor’s Prisoner Extradition and Control System (PECS) is a proprietary computer operating system that TransCor commissioned to optimize operations. PECS combines the knowledge and experience of TransCor planners with the speed of technology to route trips in the most efficient way. PECS also enhances communication and tracking with agent teams on the road and creates greater visability for orders in the system. For the customer, the system means we will be able to provide greater convenience, on-time service and cost-effective rates.

3. IS MY ORDER INFORMATION SAFE?
TransCor is aware of the confidential nature of the information you give us when you place an order. Throughout the development of our online system, we have kept this in mind and have taken steps to ensure your prisoner information stays as secure as possible. Very little information will be sent via email, as it is not secure, and while updates on trips will be available, exact prisoner locations will never be shared. The safety of our agents, your prisoner and public at large is important to TransCor and the new online system will not compromise our efforts to safeguard each of these.

4. WHAT IF I STILL WANT TO SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON?
Certainly. Customer Service representatives will remain available by phone at 1-800-737-9190, and as always, you can also fax your order in to us at 1-615-251-6855. You may either continue to place your orders exclusively by phone, or you may also place some via phone and some via the secure website. The choice is yours.

5. IF I START PLACING ORDERS ONLINE, DOES THAT MEAN I CAN’T CALL MY ORDER IN ANYMORE?
Absolutely not, the online functionality is intended to offer our customers greater convenience and ease of use. As stated in the question above, you may place your orders online, via phone or fax. In fact, some orders requiring shorter deadline dates or special transportation methods outside our normal ground system will have to be placed by calling us at 1-800-737-9190.

6. WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE QUESTIONS OR GET AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN I’M PLACING MY ORDER ONLINE?
Call us! We are here to help and make sure that the ordering process is as easy as possible. If you experience problems or have general questions, call Customer Service at 1-800-737-9190.

7. DO I STILL HAVE TO FAX IN MY PAPERWORK?
Yes. Paperwork is still required to be faxed in if you place your order online. Paperwork should be faxed to 1-615-251-6855.

8. IS MY ORDER HANDLED DIFFERENTLY IF I PLACE IT ONLINE?
No, because when you place your order online, it is being put into the same system, PECS, that we use internally. Your order will be verified similar to if you had called the order in and you still need to fax in the appropriate paperwork. After your order is verified, it will be scheduled and routed the same as if you had called or faxed it in.

9. WHAT TYPE OF ORDERS CAN I NOT PLACE ONLINE?
You will need to call in orders that require transportation outside our normal ground transportation network. This might include prisoners with health related issues that prevent them from being transported safely through the ground network, or prisoners with short deadlines. For cases such as these, travel arrangements are made with input from the customer in terms of deadlines and budget.

10. BESIDES PLACING MY ORDERS, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO ONLINE?
The online PECS system hosts a number of transactional services for you to take advantage of. Registered customers can get quotes on moves, view invoicing information, manage users of their account and monitor the progress of the orders they have in our system.
