Job Duties:

• Provide for prisoner safety and security in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Responsible for prisoner pickup, transportation and delivery of prisoners and their property between a sending and receiving agency.
• Completion of proper paperwork and/or documentation on all transactions, i.e. trip expenses and prisoner receipts.
• Maintain ongoing and required communications with the Operations Center throughout the trip.
• Conduct regular vehicle and equipment maintenance while en route.
• Comply with Department of Transportation hours of service regulations and logbook reporting.
• Consult with Trip Management and other Operations Center personnel in assessing situations and making decisions.

Must have the physical and mental fitness and stamina to endure demanding trip schedules and maintain alertness, protecting team members and prisoners in times of emergency.

Work Schedule:

All trips start and end at the hub location. Trips last for five days, during that five day period the vehicles are rolling twenty-four hours per day, only making stops to pick-up, drop-off, feed the inmates and refuel. Extradition Specialist will take turns driving, sleeping and taking care of the inmates while on board the vehicle. Time for personal hygiene is available during food and fuel stops at the Officer in charges discretion.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 21 years of age.
• Class A or B Commercial Drivers License or permit with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in corrections, law enforcement, military or security.
• Live within a reasonable commute distance to the hub location.
• Candidates must also successfully complete over 100 hours of company-provided training.

Pass a fingerprint-based background check, a motor vehicle records check, which must reflect a clean driving record for the past 18 months, Department of Transportation physical examination and a pre-employment drug screen.

Once employed, Extradition Specialists will participate in a random drug-screening program, be required to maintain a good driving record and participate in re-certification training.
